THANK YOU!

September 11, 2012 in News

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped us raise over $1500 for PAWS! Special thanks to those who made a donation even though they weren’t able to attend.  Read all about the night and check out some photos courtesy our new fav blogger – Life With More Cowbell.

Big thanks go out to all the great bands who played and encouraged their fans to come out and support the cause.

Tom Wilson
Noah’s Arkweld
Angela Saini
Sarah Belle
Old Major

Behind the scenes we also had plenty of help. These generous people have earned our respect and gratitude. They donated their time, their money, their services and helped us spread the word.

Sue Tracey
Yvonne Matsell – El Mocambo
Marilyn Goodman
Chris Quinn
Monika Slack – The World Of Blues
Barry Taylor – Y108 FM
Mike Chalut – PROUD FM
Meredith Shaw – BOOM 97.3

A big chunk of the money raised came though the silent auction and the raffle. Without thinking twice, these companies, businesses and individuals donated some pretty awesome prizes.

Connie Barnes – Madison Avenue Pub
Kelly Kane – Madison Manor Boutique Hotel
Trish Silliphant – Air Canada Centre
Steve Bullock – Audio Visual Ventures
Ann Wilson – HMV
Matt Wilson – Backyard Axe Throwing League
Rosa Milando
Dave Stewart & Adrian Ravinsky – 416 Snack Bar
John Oakes – Harbord House
Mark Corbett & Andy Shnurr – The Roy

And, of course, thanks to Kimberly Heys and all the volunteers at PAWS for 40 years of compassion and endless work to save, protect and rehabilitate sick and abandoned animals. Friendly little souls who would have otherwise been forgotten and left to die. These people deserve the biggest “thank you” from all of us.

Lindsay Rocks!

August 19, 2012 in News

What a fun day we had in Lindsay! Thanks to Rebecca and her crew for organizing this great festival and inviting us to play.

And, of course, special thanks to Jason Taylor for both givin’ er and Takin’ Care of Business.

The highlight of the show was meeting our newest fans – Dakota, Jack and Delaney.

After a short lesson, Jack has the most important part of drumming mastered. Looking like a rock start behind the kit.

New CD available now!

Little Creatures Television Debut

October 10, 2011 in News

Little Creatures (formerly Calling Wendy) will make their television debut on Monday, October 24th.

Catch the show – What’s In A Name on History Television.

Special guests include legendary guitarist Randy Bachman (The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive) and Mike Turner (Our Lady Peace).

History Television – What’s In A Name

Here is the idea behind the show.

We meet a Toronto rock band that is trying to make a name for itself—quite literally. They already have a name—Calling Wendy—but no one has called, so with a brand new sound, they need a catchy name to match. To help them choose a name that rocks, they look to the past; from the wildly successful (The Beatles) to the quirky (Barenaked Ladies) to the completely out there (Flock of Seagulls), rock band names have helped establish a band’s identity. Our musicians get advice from legendary musician Randy Bachman (The Guess Who, Bachman Turner Overdrive), Mike Turner (formerly of Our Lady Peace), and entertainment lawyer Zach Werner, who knows a thing or two about what works in the music biz. Rock and roll may claim to be counter-culture, but let’s face it, every band wants a name that will get them fame.
